Precision Railway Equipment Company was founded by Rio Grande Pacific Corporation after RGPC purchased remanufactured tampers from two different suppliers — and was disappointed with the quality and performance of both machines. RGPC recognized there was no reliable, affordable option in the market for like-new surfacing equipment.
So they built one. PRE was established with a 40,000 sq. ft. facility in Independence, Kansas, led by an executive team with over 90 years of combined experience. Every machine that leaves PRE's facility is built to the same standard as a new unit — with OEM components, full warranty, and the Jupiter II Operating System.

The Remanufacturing Process
PRE remanufactures customer-owned equipment or procures machines on their behalf. Every unit goes through a rigorous, documented process before delivery
